I know forgiveness is hard for everyone, but it is also something that we will all have to experience. We will need forgiveness at times and we will have to offer forgiveness at times. There are those who refuse to forgive and of course you are free to do the same, but it means you will always be plagued by that problem. You will never be able to release yourself from the issue that needed forgiving you know? There are times when we all get hurt, it’s going to happen. We will be lied to, cheated on, back stabbed, etc etc but living in that situation will get you no where. I know forgiveness may take a while and not just happen over night, but when you do finally let go of your grudge and forgive you will feel so much better.
I mean we all do make mistakes and we all do handle situations differently. But know that you could one day be in a similar position, only in different circumstances and have to make that choice. Would you want that person to forgive you? What would you do, if you messed up and wanted forgiveness? When you forgive, you let go of the negatives surrounding that situation and by letting go of them, you are able to see things in a different light. You are able to react positively and to have inner peace, you must learn to accept that we are all just human and all humans make mistakes and warrant forgiveness. It is a natural part of us and no one can be perfect or right all of the time.
